Investment grows amid economic turmoil, South Sulawesi strengthens downstream processing

Investment realisation in South Sulawesi in the first quarter of 2026 still shows a positive trend of around Rp5 trillion compared to the same period the previous year. The South Sulawesi Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (PTSP) continues to encourage investment oriented towards the downstream processing of the region’s leading commodities. So far, South Sulawesi’s exports have been dominated by nickel, while the agriculture and fisheries sectors, which have great potential, have not yet provided maximum added value.
