Investment Education: UPN Veteran Students Learn Astra Agro's Operations and Sustainability Practices
Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at UPN Veteran Jakarta directly studied business practices and corporate governance through the Visit Emiten 2026 activity. This capital market education programme stressed the importance of understanding company operations and sustainability aspects before making investment decisions.
The visit, organised by the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) of FEB UPN Veteran Jakarta, took place at PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk on Wednesday (13/5/2026), a palm oil plantation issuer with the stock code AALI. This routine programme aims to broaden students’ insights into the investment world while directly understanding corporate business processes.
Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, Mochamad Husni, stated that best operational practices and sustainability commitments are key factors in maintaining the national palm oil industry’s sustainability.
“Best operational practices and sustainability commitments are the key to sustainable palm oil business, not only commercially but also very important for prospering the nation,” said Husni.
Husni welcomed the student visit as part of corporate education for the younger generation regarding business practices and the capital market. According to him, Visit Emiten provides students with the opportunity to directly understand industry dynamics, corporate governance, and the application of sustainability principles in operations.
“We hope that through this visit, participants not only get to know the company from the perspective of numbers and financial reports, but also understand the business processes, governance, and the company’s commitment to sustainability and the environment,” he said.
Husni added that the activity is expected to provide a new perspective on the working world and the national plantation industry.
“We hope this activity can become a beneficial learning experience and inspire students to continue developing their competencies and perspectives towards the industrial world and investment,” he said.
President of KSPM 9.0, Anugerah Putra Prasetyo, stated that students need to understand that investment is not just about number movements in the capital market, but also the business processes run by the company.
“As investors, we do not only look at number calculations, but also must understand how that business process occurs,” he said.
Anugerah hopes that the visit will help participants understand the company’s fundamentals directly through interactions with industry practitioners.
Project Officer of Visit Emiten 2026, Dinda Suci Batalano, said that the activity’s theme was chosen so that students can see the investment value from the perspective of the company’s business and sustainability.
“Through this educational visit, we hope participants can gain real and in-depth learning experiences regarding the industrial world and the capital market,” she said.
She also expressed appreciation to Astra Agro for opening up learning opportunities for students.
