Investigator Examines NTB Police Brimob Member Over Child Sexual Intercourse Case

The case of alleged sexual intercourse with a minor, which reportedly implicates a member of the Brimob mobile brigade of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (NTB), has progressed to the investigation stage. The suspect has already been questioned by investigators. Mataram Police Chief, Commissioner Hendro Purwoko, stated that the case remains under investigation. “It is still in process, still under investigation. Witness examinations have also been conducted,” Hendro said on Thursday (4/6/2026). To date, investigators from the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Mataram Police Criminal Investigation Unit have questioned a total of six witnesses. One of them is the suspect himself. “Six witnesses have been examined, including the reported individual. The person concerned has been examined,” he revealed. In this case, investigators have also involved a number of experts. Several experts have also been asked to provide their statements. “We examined forensic and psychology experts,” he noted. Previously, Joko Jumadi, a representative of the NTB Stop Sexual Violence Coalition, disclosed that the victim in the case involving the NTB Police Brimob member is a student. “The victim is a student in West Lombok,” Joko said on Monday (18/5/2026). Joko stated he became aware of the case after the Mataram City Child Protection Agency (LPA) received a request from the Mataram Police for a psychological companion for the victim. “There was a request for psychological assistance from the Mataram Police to the LPA,” said Joko, who is also the Chairman of the Mataram City LPA. The case occurred in 2025. The victim and the perpetrator were dating at the time. During their relationship, they engaged in sexual intercourse. “This is a case of intercourse with a child. Anyone who has intercourse with a child is classified as child intercourse. It does not matter if there were threats or other factors. The act of having intercourse with a child is a criminal offence,” he stated.
