Jakarta, VIVA – The Banten High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Banten) is currently investigating allegations of criminal corruption related to the control of state assets belonging to the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Religious Affairs, specifically those of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta.

In this investigation process, several parties have been summoned for clarification, including the former Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, DS.

The Head of the Legal Information Section of Kejati Banten, Jonathan Suranta Martua, stated that the case is still in the preliminary investigation stage. However, he did not elaborate on who has been examined or the amount of state losses in this case.

Information gathered indicates that summonses to several parties have been issued since January 2026. In addition to the former rector, investigators have also sought statements from foundation officials and the UIN integration team regarding the alleged corruption, asset claims, and abuse of authority in managing state assets.

On the other hand, Rusdiyana Nur Ridho, from the legal team of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, stated that this case relates to the alleged misuse of state assets in the form of land and buildings by foundations that do not comply with regulations.

She hopes the case will soon proceed to trial to provide legal certainty.

“We have also filed a police report against the former Rector of UIN Jakarta, Dede Rosyada, at the South Tangerang Police Resort and the Metro Jaya Regional Police,” she told reporters, quoted on Friday, 27 March 2026.

The report has been registered in two jurisdictions, namely at the South Tangerang Police Resort under number LP/B/8265/XI/2025/SPKT and at the Metro Jaya Regional Police under number LP/B/54/I/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.

This case also highlights the management of several educational assets such as SMA/SMK Triguna, Madrasah Pembangunan, and TK Ketilang, which, based on the Minister of Religious Affairs’ decision, should be integrated into the Public Service Agency (BLU) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

However, in practice, these assets are allegedly controlled by several foundations.

The alleged deviations are said to have occurred since the 2004-2005 period, during changes in foundation management. The foundation’s management is suspected to have operated without transparent mechanisms, including changes to the articles of association as well as control over assets and finances.

Moreover, from 2008 to 2015, the control of assets is said to have expanded, from land purchases to operational vehicles that are allegedly not fully recorded officially.
