The Sukawati Police Sector in Gianyar has seized 11 stolen motorcycles. The seizure of these vehicles stemmed from a report by a local resident who had lost one motorbike. Sukawati Police Chief, Kompol I Nyoman Wiranata, stated on Friday (5/6/2026) that the 11 motorcycles were seized as criminal proceeds from various locations in Gianyar Regency and Denpasar City. The investigation began after the police received a report of a missing motorcycle and mobile phone from a Gianyar resident, I Gede Putu Darma, on 15 May 2026. The motorcycle, with registration number DK 5930 FBL, went missing at a shophouse construction project on Jalan Batuyang, Banjar Tangkeban, Batubulan Kangin Village. During the investigation, Sukawati Police obtained information about two individuals, M Mone (28) and Timotius JW (22), suspected of involvement in the theft of Darma’s motorcycle. Police received a tip-off on Thursday (4/6/2026) that Mone and Timotius were in Kedonganan Subdistrict, Kuta District, Badung. A team was dispatched to the location and successfully apprehended both men. Upon raiding the location, police discovered 11 motorcycles of different brands. Investigations revealed that the motorcycles were the proceeds of crimes committed by Mone and Timotius. Following physical inspections and matching of chassis and engine numbers, it was discovered that the motorcycles had been stolen from several locations in Gianyar and Denpasar. Darma’s motorcycle, which was reported missing in Sukawati, was among them. Wiranata confirmed that Mone and Timotius are in custody, along with one mobile phone, one screwdriver, and two sharp weapons of the ‘cudik’ type, which were allegedly used in their criminal activities. Mone and Timotius turned out to be repeat offenders. They have been named as suspects and charged under Article 477 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. Police are still investigating the possibility of a motor vehicle theft network involving the two young men.
