Invest Selangor Berhad has confirmed its readiness to bring a large delegation of approximately 150 people to attend SIBS@ASEAN: Bandung Edition, scheduled for 9-10 July 2026. This strategic move aims to strengthen trade and investment synergies between Selangor, Malaysia, and West Java Province.

The event, centred at Pullman Grand Central Bandung, marks a historic milestone for the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS). For the first time in nearly a decade, the prestigious business forum is being held outside Malaysia, signalling an expansion of Selangor’s economic diplomacy in the Southeast Asian region.

Chief Executive Officer of Invest Selangor Berhad, Dato’ Hasan Azhari Hj. Idris, stated that the selection of Bandung as the inaugural overseas location is part of a broader vision to expand regional economic networks. ‘Bandung Edition marks a new chapter for SIBS. Celebrating a decade of success, this is the right moment to bring Selangor’s potential directly to our strategic partners in ASEAN,’ Hasan Azhari said in an official statement.

The delegation, led by the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari, includes government officials, cross-sector business players, industry associations, and potential investors. Bandung was chosen for its similarities to Selangor as a hub for innovation, manufacturing, and a dynamic MSME ecosystem.

The two-day agenda will focus on several key sectors, including semiconductors, aerospace, the halal industry, life sciences, and the digital economy. The highlight on 9 July 2026 will be the SIBS@ASEAN One-Day Forum, scheduled to be opened by Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari alongside the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi. The forum will serve as a platform for presenting investment opportunities and signing several strategic Memoranda of Understanding between entities from both regions.

In addition to the discussion forum, a business exhibition will feature around 60 entities from Selangor ready to offer concrete partnerships. On the second day, the delegation is scheduled to conduct site visits to various strategic industrial estates in West Java to directly observe on-the-ground potential and explore technical collaborations with local industry players.

Through SIBS@ASEAN: Bandung Edition, Invest Selangor aims to solidify Selangor’s position as a primary gateway for global companies seeking to expand into the ASEAN market, while simultaneously creating a new, inclusive economic growth corridor between Malaysia and Indonesia.
