Inul to appear at the House

JAKARTA: Phenomenal dangdut singer Inul Daratista will appear
at the House of Representatives (DPR) on Friday not to display
her dancing skills but to present herself before legislators.

Also scheduled to attend the hearing are actresses Desy
Ratnasari, Ayu Azhari and dangdut singer Rhoma Irama.

Legislator Djoko Susilo, who chairs the media subcommission,
said on Tuesday that the summons of the performers was designed
to clarify the negative portrayal of entertainers which has been
circulated, in part by the media.

Djoko said he hoped the performers could give support to the
legislators in their efforts to prevent media hype.

The legislators have prepared questions for the entertainers.

The entertainers will be asked for their opinions on the style
of reporting of some media and whether press reports affect their
