Introducing Children to the World of Mining Through Adventure

A group of children, wearing yellow safety helmets and project vests, prepared to explore a miniature version of the mining world during the opening day of the Junior Miners Fun Fest (JMFF) 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/7).

Through interactive play experiences, the event presented by Mind Id aims to introduce children to Indonesia’s mineral wealth and various professions within strategic industrial sectors. It also seeks to instil values of safety, precision, and cooperation from an early age.

In the Gold Rush Zone and Human Claw attractions, children were challenged to search for gold and understand the basic concepts of mineral exploration through fun physical activities. “The most exciting part was having to hang and grab the gold. It felt like performing a mission,” said Salma, 11.

In the excavator simulation zone, children had the opportunity to operate heavy machinery in the form of educational games. They learned to move equipment and transport materials under the guidance of officers. These activities are designed to train motor coordination, focus, and patience in following technical instructions.

Angel, 11, realised that every mission at JMFF requires solid teamwork. “Here, we learn that completing a mission is not just about being fast. You have to cooperate, be precise, and follow instructions,” she remarked.
