JAKARTA (JP): One of the best known dance companies in the Netherlands, Introdans, will return to Jakarta next week for the second consecutive year.

Founded in 1971, the group is skilled in providing an entertaining mix of modern ballet with classical and lyrical elements.

"They were so happy about their visit here last year that they wanted to come back this year," said the director of Erasmus Huis Geeskelien Wolters which is sponsoring their tour.

"We asked them also to include workshops so they could interact with local dancers."

Introdans will perform dances from its repertoire at Erasmus Huis (tel. 525-2321) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Yogyakarta to perform and conduct workshops at Auditorium Jurusan Tari ISI (tel. 0274-51459) on Saturday and at Taman Budaya Surakarta (tel. 0271-635414) in Surakarta on Monday, May 21.

The group returns to Jakarta for a performance on May 24 at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta (tel. 3808283). The performances are open to the public at no charge, except for the final show at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta. (brc)
