The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, in collaboration with the Indonesian Interpol NCB Secretariat, deported a foreign national from the United Kingdom, initialled SL (45 years old), who is a mafia fugitive wanted by Interpol. The individual was repatriated on Tuesday evening (07/04) via flight QG689 from Denpasar to Jakarta, followed by flight GA088 from Jakarta to Amsterdam.

Previously, it was reported that the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office successfully secured SL at the Immigration Checkpost (TPI) of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Saturday, 28 March 2026. The individual was detained upon arrival in Bali from a flight originating in Singapore after the system detected him as a subject of Interpol’s Red Notice.

Based on intelligence data and coordination, SL is suspected of being the leader of an international criminal organisation. He is alleged to be the mastermind controlling his network members in operations involving the management of fictitious companies and the criminal offence of money laundering.

The Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, stated that this successful apprehension demonstrates the effectiveness of the integrated immigration surveillance system. “This deportation is a concrete step in our commitment to maintaining state sovereignty. We will not allow Indonesian territory, particularly Bali, to become a hideout or operational base for international criminals. Strict immigration oversight is the frontline defence in protecting national security from potential foreign threats,” said Bugie.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration continues to strengthen coordination with various law enforcement agencies, both domestic and international, to ensure that every crossing of foreigners is accurately monitored. Consistent and intelligence-based immigration oversight is a crucial element in maintaining national security and order from transnational crime threats, while also ensuring that national stability remains protected from disruptions by irresponsible parties.
