Interpol fugitive caught in Bali

DENPASAR, Bali: An Indonesian who has been on Interpol's
wanted list since last year for his alleged involvement in drug
dealing in Belgium and Australia, has been apprehended by police
here.

Sirup Siregar, 37, was picked up by officers in the Sanur area
on Thursday.

According to police, he was found to be in possession of about
1.6 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Chief of the Bali Police Narcotics Division Adj. Snr. Comm.
Wayan Suwena said police had been searching for Sirup for some
time.

"We got a break when we were informed that the suspect was
seen driving in the Sanur area," he said adding that based on
information they had received it was believed that three Interpol
fugitives were hiding out in Bali.(zen)
