Interns Receiving Provincial Minimum Wage to Commence Work; Full List of Allowances Released
Participants of the National Internship Programme (MagangHub) Batch 2, 2026 cohort, will begin their internship period on Monday (21/06/2026). The government has issued specific guidance to participants prior to their commencement at their respective offices.
Darmawansyah, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development (Binalav.avotas) at the Ministry of Manpower, stated that the primary focus should be on preparation before the first day. This preparation is essential to ensure participants understand the programme’s implementation and know the necessary steps to take from the outset.
“What interns need to prepare includes checking placement details, ensuring contact information is active, contacting organisers or mentors, preparing necessary internship equipment, and re-reading their assigned internship roles,” Darmawansyah said in a press release on Sunday (20/09/2026).
Participants are advised to check the email addresses and telephone numbers they registered to ensure they do not miss vital information from organisers. Before their first day, participants may also contact organisers or mentors to confirm arrival times, locations, and the specific personnel they are to meet.
Furthermore, participants must ensure all administrative requirements are met and prepare the necessary supplies for the programme. They are also expected to review their chosen positions and tasks to understand the responsibilities associated with their respective fields.
Darmawansyah expressed hope that the National Internship Programme will provide work experience relevant to the participants’ competencies, serving as a developmental stage before entering the professional workforce.
As is well known, MagangHub participants are university graduates who will receive a monthly allowance from the government equivalent to the provincial minimum wage (UMP). The monthly allowance for the six-month period has been regulated under the Decree of the Minister of Manpower Number 225 of 2026, established by Minister of Manpower Yassierli on 14 September 2026.
