Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police’s Public Relations Division, said the suspect was identified by investigators from the Directorate of Crimes against Women and Children and Human Trafficking following a case review on Wednesday, 22 April. According to the victims’ legal counsel, Benny Jehadu, Sheikh Ahmad Al Misry frequently appeared on television as a judge for Quran recitation competitions. The legal representative explained that the criminal case involved more than one victim, all of whom have suffered severe psychological trauma as a result of the incident.
