International Industrial Exhibition Serves as a Platform for Collaboration and Technology Transfer
The rapid transformation of industry is driving businesses to adapt to technological advancements, changes in global supply chains, and dynamic market needs. In this environment, inter-industry collaboration, technology transfer, and expanded market access are vital factors for maintaining competitiveness and driving economic growth.
International-scale industrial exhibitions are considered effective platforms for bringing together various stakeholders, including industry players, investors, governments, and technology providers from around the world. The International Industrial Week (IIW) Indonesia 2026 has officially opened at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Organised by PT Meorient Exhibition International, the exhibition brings together national and global industry players to explore business opportunities, cooperation, and technological innovation.
Larissa Zhou, President Director of PT Meorient Exhibition International, stated that IIW Indonesia is not merely a showcase for products and technology, but a collaborative hub for industry participants. “International Industrial Week is more than just an exhibition; it is a platform that brings industry players together to collaborate, exchange ideas, explore the latest technologies, and create new business opportunities. We hope this exhibition will foster various strategic partnerships that support future industrial development,” said Zhou.
In this year’s edition, IIW Indonesia 2026 features more than 1,800 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of industrial technologies, products, and solutions. The exhibition is also attended by buyers and professional visitors from over 15 countries, making it one of the largest international industrial events in Indonesia. Involved sectors include manufacturing, industrial machinery, logistics, material handling, automation, energy, construction, and various other industrial technology solutions. Over the four-day event, participants can engage in business matching, industrial seminars, business forums, networking sessions, and product presentations.
Dadang Asikin, Chairman of GAMMA (Indonesian Metalworking and Machinery Industry Association), noted that international forums like IIW Indonesia are crucial moments for strengthening national industrial competitiveness. “Through international forums such as IIW Indonesia 2026, we hope to see increased collaboration, technology transfer, investment opportunities, and business cooperation that can support a more modern, independent, and globally competitive Indonesian industry,” said Asikin.
In addition to serving as a meeting point for industry players, the exhibition is being utilised by local governments to introduce regional investment potential and economic development opportunities to international investors. The Mayor of Padang Panjang, Hendri Aris, stated that regional participation in international exhibitions is an effort to expand cooperation networks and introduce local investment potential. He invited businesses and investors to explore opportunities in Padang Panjang, highlighting its growing economic potential alongside its cultural and tourism attractions.
Furthermore, Juanda Permana Jaya, Head of the Industrial Division for the DKI Jakarta Province, emphasised that synergy between the government, the business world, and international partners is essential for strengthening national industrial competitiveness. “Exhibitions like International Industrial Week provide space for industry players to expand business networks, learn about the latest technologies, and build strategic partnerships that support sustainable industrial transformation and growth,” he said.
The IIW Indonesia 2026 also enjoys support from various national and international industrial associations and features a Malaysia Pavilion showcasing leading Malaysian companies and products. This presence is expected to broaden cooperation opportunities between the two nations. Through forums like IIW Indonesia, industry players are expected to gain wider access to the technology, markets, and strategic partnerships necessary to face global industrial challenges and strengthen the national economy in the future.
