Several international airlines have increased their ticket prices as a result of the conflict in the Middle East. At least three airlines on international routes have raised their ticket fares: Cathay Pacific, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), and Edelweiss. “The ongoing volatile situation in the Middle East continues to have a significant impact on jet fuel prices, and this is putting considerable pressure on airlines worldwide,” quoted from Cathay Pacific’s official website on Monday (30/3/2026). According to the latest price data published by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the average global jet fuel price has risen to US$197.00 per barrel for the week ending 20 March 2026. “Fuel accounts for around 30 percent of Cathay Pacific’s total operating costs in 2025 and is vital to our operations,” it stated. Furthermore, the additional fuel charge is an important mechanism to offset and recover some of the additional fuel costs. The aim is to better reflect movements in jet fuel prices, both upwards and downwards. This increased frequency of reviews is intended as a temporary measure and will be reassessed when the situation in the Middle East stabilises. This fuel surcharge is already included in all Cathay Pacific tickets, listed on all direct flight routes. The following are some Cathay Pacific flight routes that have experienced price adjustments:
