Interior Minister Tito: WFH Rule for One Day per Week to Be Announced Tomorrow

Interior Minister (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian stated that the government’s policy on working from home (work from home/WFH) for one day per week will be announced tomorrow. He said the Ministry of Home Affairs does not wish to preempt the announcement of the designated WFH day. “Just be patient, just be patient, I hear it’s very likely, possibly, to be officially announced tomorrow. So I don’t want to preempt it,” Tito said after a working meeting with Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (30/3). Tito mentioned that following the official announcement, there will be directives to regional governments. Nevertheless, he did not wish to preempt the decision on designating the WFH day. “It will be announced tomorrow,” said the man who was once the National Police Chief. Previously, the government has been developing WFH for one day per week as a measure to improve fuel oil (BBM) efficiency due to the war in the Middle East. Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that the decision has been set this week. “Basically, it has been set this week,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto after accompanying President Prabowo Subianto in receiving US businessman Ray Dalio at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Friday (27/3). Airlangga said the government will soon announce the WFH day for government employees. Airlangga assessed that the announcement of the WFH day will not extend beyond March. “As soon as possible, there are only a few days left in this month anyway. So there’s still time,” Airlangga said.
