Interior Minister Tito Accompanies President at DPRD Leadership Enhancement Course

Interior Minister (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian accompanied President Prabowo Subianto in delivering guidance at the Leadership Enhancement Course for Regional Leaders (KPPD) for Chairpersons of the Regional People’s Representative Councils (DPRD) across Indonesia.

Bearing the theme “Strengthening the Role of Provincial/District/City DPRD Leaders to Support Asta Cita Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”, the event took place at the Military Academy Complex in Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday (18/4).

The presence of the Interior Minister at the agenda is part of the central government’s support in strengthening the capacity of regional legislative leadership.

Furthermore, this presence also serves as a form of actualisation of guidance and supervision of regional government administration. This is considering that the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) is the coach and general supervisor of regional government.

In his address, President Prabowo emphasised the importance of the strategic role of DPRD Chairpersons in supporting national development. He conveyed that his direct presence at the forum was based on the importance of the position of regional legislative leaders in the government system.

“After I learned that this is all DPRD Chairpersons from across Indonesia, I consider it important and appropriate for me to attend directly,” said President Prabowo.

The President also stressed the importance of a sense of nationalism amid the diversity of participants’ backgrounds, from regional origins, ethnicities, education, to political affiliations. He invited all participants to prioritise the interests of the nation and state.

“As children of the nation, today I want to speak from heart to heart, I want to speak plainly,” explained the President.

Through the forum, Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia’s strength is not only determined by the central government, but also heavily depends on solid, integrity-driven, and people-oriented regional leadership.

Meanwhile, in his report, the Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) of the Republic of Indonesia, Ace Hasan Syadzily, conveyed the implementation of the event.

“This KPPD has been running for five days, Mr President, from 15 to tomorrow, 19 April 2026, at the Tidar Valley of the Military Academy in Magelang, where national leaders are forged and trained, attended by 503 DPRD Chairpersons,” said Ace Hasan.
