Interest in Waste-to-Energy Power Generation Grows
PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) announced that 85 corporate entities and consortia had been included in the Selected Supplier List (DPT) for the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) project Phase II. The companies in the list will be screened again to be chosen as partners for the WTE project.
Fadli Rahman, Director of Investment at PT Danantara Investment Management and Chief Executive Officer of PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), said there had been a significant increase from Phase I DPT, which recorded 24 companies. ‘The rise in participants from both local and international sources underscores that the WTE programme has strong investment appeal and is conducted with credible governance,’ he said in a written statement on Friday, 22 May 2026.
The companies included in Phase II DPT come from Singapore, India, South Korea, China, Japan, France, and Indonesia. A total of 16 local companies entered into the Phase II DPT consortium list.
According to Fadli, this demonstrates the readiness of the domestic industry to participate in WTE infrastructure development, and is in line with the mandate of Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025 to keep favouring the national industry. The selection process is guaranteed to be conducted transparently and competitively.
‘Thus producing partners capable of driving integrated waste management and contributing to addressing the waste emergency in Indonesia,’ he added.
Next, DIM will issue the Terms of Reference to participants who pass into the DPT, and will provide further information about the schedule and procedures for the next stage in a separate notice.
