Interactive Learning Becomes an Alternative Approach to Education at Islamic Boarding Schools
BEKASI – The development of digital technology is creating opportunities for children to learn through interactive content beyond the classroom. This approach was introduced to students at Al-Hidayah Nurul Ummah Islamic boarding school in Jatiasih, Bekasi, through learning activities based on games and educational content.
The event, titled SHOW Kids x Giggle Academy Goes to School, was held on Wednesday (7 October 2026). The collaboration between SHOW Kids and Giggle Academy invited students to take part in a range of learning activities using a fun-learning approach.
The approach combines educational games, direct interaction and material relevant to children’s everyday lives. The activities introduced participants to a way of learning that does not rely solely on the formal delivery of lessons.
The two organisers also focused on the use of digital content in children’s education. As children become increasingly familiar with digital devices, they need content that not only entertains but also develops their knowledge, creativity and curiosity.
SHOW Chief Executive Officer Akshay Melwani said entertainment and education could be developed together. He said engaging learning materials could help children build good learning habits from an early age.
“We believe learning should be an enjoyable experience. Children deserve content that not only entertains but also nurtures curiosity and positive character. Through our collaboration with Giggle Academy, we want to provide educational programmes that are relevant to their everyday lives, including those of students at Islamic boarding schools, so that their enthusiasm for learning can continue to grow,” Akshay Melwani said in a press release on Saturday (10 October 2026).
During the event, students took part in an ice-breaking session, educational games and a question-and-answer session. The organisers also introduced programmes and learning content developed by SHOW Kids and Giggle Academy.
The activities gave participants the chance to interact, ask questions and learn through games. The event also included a prize-giving session and a group photo.
For Islamic boarding schools, interactive learning methods can complement existing educational activities. They provide students with opportunities to develop creativity and confidence in expressing themselves alongside formal learning.
SHOW Kids and Giggle Academy organised the event through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. The two organisations hope similar activities can be held in more areas, giving children more opportunities to take part in interactive learning beyond the classroom.
