Residents in Plosogaden, Candiroto, Temanggung, Central Java, worked together to clear debris from a collapsed bridge on Monday (18/5/2026). The bridge collapsed due to heavy rain, which caused the river’s strong current to erode the bridge’s foundations.

The collapse of this sole inter-village connecting bridge has left at least 395 residents isolated. Officers from the Temanggung Public Works and Spatial Planning Department (DPUPR) have inspected the site to assess the damage.

The Temanggung Regency Government is preparing emergency handling measures following the collapse of the Kali Jaran Bridge, which connects Banjaran Hamlet and Sinongko Hamlet in Plosogaden Village, Candiroto District. These steps aim to accelerate the restoration of community access, particularly to support the educational and economic activities of the residents.
