Inter-Regional Aid Flows to Aceh, Tito Appreciates Regional Heads' Solidarity
Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Disaster in the Sumatra Region, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, attended and witnessed the handover of Letters of Intent to Provide Special Financial Assistance from several regional governments.
On that occasion, the Medan City Government handed over a commitment of assistance to the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government, while the Pematangsiantar City Government provided support to the Bener Meriah Regency Government.
This agenda was part of a series of activities by Tito at the Working Meeting of APEKSI Regional Commissariat I, held at the Ballroom of Hotel Kyriad Muraya, Banda Aceh, on Monday (20/4/2026).
The handover reflects inter-regional solidarity in accelerating the recovery of disaster-affected areas in Aceh.
Subsequently, the Minister of Home Affairs issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 900.1.3/1084/SJ, which contains recommendations for regions not affected by the disaster in the three provinces to support post-disaster recovery.
“I issued an official circular, not for me. Not even one rupiah will go to me. But purely because as the Task Force Head, I can see the problems in all these regions,” said Tito, in an official statement on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
Medan City allocated Rp 50 billion for Aceh Tamiang Regency, while Deli Serdang Regency proposed Rp 50 billion for Aceh Timur Regency.
In addition, Simalungun Regency prepared Rp 30 billion for Aceh Utara Regency, and Asahan Regency Rp 30 billion for Bireuen Regency.
Serdang Bedagai Regency proposed Rp 25 billion for Pidie Jaya Regency, followed by Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency with Rp 25 billion for Aceh Tengah Regency.
Pematangsiantar City also contributed Rp 25 billion for Bener Meriah Regency, as well as Labuhanbatu Regency Rp 25 billion for Gayo Lues Regency.
“Thank you to all the regional heads, eight regional heads who donated or granted to the regional heads (affected by the disaster in Aceh) who I know are really struggling,” he said.
On that occasion, he handed over assistance in the form of one operational vehicle to support mosque activities.
“At the same time, I also asked for support from Masjid Baiturrahman so that the task of disaster recovery can be prayed for to be accelerated and to receive approval from Allah Swt,” said Tito.
