Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Intelligence Deputy Attorney General (Jamintel), Reda Manthovan, is overseeing the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in Tuban and Bojonegoro districts, East Java. In a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday, Reda said this monitoring is part of the synergy in supervisory and evaluation duties for national nutritional fulfilment in both regions. Based on the monitoring results in Tuban and Bojonegoro areas, several dynamics were found related to distribution aspects and the readiness of service units. In response, Reda emphasised that the Attorney General’s Office prioritises a preventive approach. “Every potential problem is addressed through administrative mechanisms, guidance, and education before resorting to law enforcement measures,” said Reda. He stressed that the MBG programme is a strategic implementation to enhance human resource quality, targeting school participants, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers. This step, he said, aligns with Presidential Regulation No. 115 of 2025, which mandates cross-sectoral synergy to ensure programme accountability and targeting accuracy. The Attorney General’s Office, Reda said, has established cooperation with the National Food Agency (BGN) regarding data exchange and prevention of deviations through an integrated intelligence approach. Additionally, cooperation has been expanded to the village level through partnerships with ABPEDNAS. “ABPEDNAS serves as our strategic partner in the field for early detection, actual data collection, and participatory monitoring to ensure the programme runs accountably at the village level,” he stated. To support the effectiveness of supervision, Reda said, the Attorney General’s Office utilises digital-based information technology for real-time monitoring. “This system functions as an early warning system to detect potential threats, disruptions, obstacles, and challenges (AGHT), such as budget misuse or distribution constraints,” he said. He mentioned that the “Jaga Dapur MBG” application serves as a strategic digital instrument to strengthen transparency and accountability in the supply chain and distribution of the MBG programme managed by BGN. Through synergy with the Attorney General’s Intelligence Division, he said, this application functions as a real-time monitoring system that oversees food quality, service unit readiness, and beneficiary validity to prevent potential budget deviations or distribution issues in the field. “The utilisation of this technology enables the creation of an early warning system capable of quickly detecting any disruptions,” he stated. According to him, with this technological utilisation, corrective actions can be promptly taken by law enforcement and programme implementers to maintain the integrity of national policy execution. He hopes that the presence of this application will serve as a solid bridge of collaboration between the government, the Attorney General’s Office, and village communities in safeguarding national food security. Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of BGN, Retired Police Inspector General Sony Sonjaya, appreciated the oversight provided by Jamintel. He noted that Jamintel’s commitment in supporting this programme through a strategic memorandum of understanding is a crucial pillar for them. “The support from the Attorney General’s Intelligence Division in securing the strategic programme, as well as the use of digital technology through the Jaga Dapur MBG application for real-time monitoring, provides us with a sense of security in conducting field operations,” he said. In the Tuban and Bojonegoro regions, he said, distribution challenges and service unit readiness are dynamics that we must face together. With assistance from Attorney General’s Office colleagues and strategic partners like ABPEDNAS, the governance of this programme is expected to maintain its integrity.
