Intel has quietly released a new laptop CPU from the Arrow Lake-HX family, namely the Core Ultra 7 251HX. This processor serves as a “younger sibling” to the Core Ultra 7 255HX, which has been on the market since last year, and features slightly reduced specifications. According to the official specifications page, the Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX has 18 cores/18 threads, fewer than the Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX’s 20 cores/20 threads. In terms of speed, the Core Ultra 7 251HX can reach a boost clock of up to 5.1 GHz, about 100 MHz lower than the Core Ultra 7 255HX. Although the boost clock is lower, there is an increase in the base clock. The Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX offers a base clock for E-cores of up to 2.5 GHz, an increase of about 700 MHz from the 255HX. Meanwhile, the base clock for P-cores also rises by about 500 MHz. On the graphics side, this processor is equipped with an integrated graphics processor (GPU) Intel Graphics with the Xe3 architecture, which has three GPU execution units. This GPU has a maximum dynamic frequency of up to 1.8 GHz with a base frequency of 300 MHz. Other supporting features in Intel’s latest CPU include temporary memory or cache of up to 30 MB (L2 and L3), support for DDR5 RAM up to 256 GB, and a power consumption level (TDP) in the range of 45-160 watts. There is no official information yet on which laptops will use the Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX. This CPU is likely to soon appear in high-end gaming and workstation laptops from various renowned laptop brands in the near future.
