Integrated with Other Modes, Jakarta LRT Extends Route to Dukuh Atas
The Jakarta Provincial Government is extending the Jakarta LRT line to Dukuh Atas to strengthen the integration of public transport in the capital. Iwan Takwin, President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Persero), said the development of the Jakarta LRT is an important part of building a connected transportation system in Jakarta. ‘The core concept of the LRT Jakarta master plan is the integration of transport and the area through a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) approach. Therefore, the LRT line is directed to strategic hubs such as Manggarai and Dukuh Atas so that intermodal transfers are faster and more comfortable,’ he told reporters on Thursday (21 May). Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung confirmed that the LRT route would be extended from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas to complete the Velodrome–Dukuh Atas line. After that, LRT development will continue towards northern areas such as Jakarta International Stadium, Ancol, PIK 2, and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
