Integrated Services Must Respond to Violence Reports Within 24 Hours

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Veronica Tan, stated that Integrated Services for Women and Children in Jakarta Province must respond to reports of violence no later than 24 hours.

“There is a standard that we have collectively agreed upon: every report must be responded to within a maximum of 24 hours, and emergency cases must be handled immediately without waiting for meetings or administrative processes,” said Veronica Tan in Jakarta on Thursday.

“Our success is measured by how many cases are truly resolved, how consistently we follow the agreed procedures, and most importantly, by the victims’ own assessment of the services they receive,” she added.

She further noted that the Integrated Services for Women and Children in Jakarta Province will actively reach out to victims of violence. “We want it to be so that a victim only needs to speak once, and then the state moves for them. It should not be the victim chasing the service, but the service coming to the victim. This is what we aim to build through the joint decree (SKB) for the pilot programme that we signed today,” she said.

The government has signed a joint decree regarding the Pilot Programme for the Implementation of Integrated Services for Women and Children in Jakarta Province to provide a more effective, integrated, and equitable protection system.

The decree was signed by the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung; Minister of PPPA, Arifah Fauzi; National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo; Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid; Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas; Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin; and Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf.
