The Integrated Sekolah Rakyat Satu in Indramayu Regency is set to commence operations, with the School Orientation Period (MPLS) scheduled for the end of July 2026. Based on information gathered on Monday (20/7), the infrastructure for Sekolah Rakyat Cikawung in Terisi District is nearing completion. The school, which stands on approximately 10 hectares of land, is ready to operate this year. “Sekolah Rakyat in Indramayu Regency is ready to hold MPLS for the 2026/2027 academic year starting 31 July 2026. The school covers primary, junior high, and senior high school levels,” said Iin Indrayati, Chair of the Permanent Sekolah Rakyat Transition Team and Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare at the Indramayu Regency Secretariat. She explained that the existence of the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat is part of the local government’s commitment to improving the quality of human resources through education and adequate infrastructure. The establishment of this school is a tangible commitment by the government, specifically the Ministry of Social Affairs together with the Indramayu Regency Government, to build superior human resources and support equal access to education for the people. Inspector of Social Empowerment at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Agus Saputra Aryanto, stated that the Sekolah Rakyat area is built as an integrated educational complex. It includes buildings for primary to senior high school levels, teacher housing flats, student dormitories, a canteen, a mosque, other places of worship, a multipurpose hall, green open spaces, and sports facilities. Several locations also feature a FIFA-standard football pitch, a jogging track, a basketball court, a multipurpose area, and an educational park supported by a sustainable environmental management system. The commencement of MPLS activities is evidence that the existence of Sekolah Rakyat is greatly beneficial for the next generation, while also easing the economic burden on parents. The utilisation of these facilities also indicates that the infrastructure built has entered an operational stage that directly impacts the community. “We are grateful that the construction of Sekolah Rakyat, which is a government mandate, has now entered the utilisation stage,” he said. The total number of students enrolled at the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat Satu is 270, consisting of 90 primary school students, 90 junior high school students, and 90 senior high school students, with an additional 100 students from the pioneer school.
