Integrated Resort with All Five-Star FTG Hotels Now Open in Macau
SJM Resorts (SJM) has reaffirmed its position on the global luxury hospitality stage after its flagship property, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, officially became the world’s only integrated resort where all hotel units are Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) Five-Star rated. In the FTG 2026 edition, every hotel, signature restaurant, and spa within the integrated resort’s precinct evaluated by Forbes Travel Guide earned the Five-Star accolade.
The achievement also makes Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau the world’s first integrated resort to host three FTG Five-Star rated spas at a single destination, namely The Spa at Grand Lisboa Palace, The Spa at THE KARL LAGERFELD, and The Spa at Palazzo Versace Macau. Overall, SJM recorded 14 Five-Star awards in the FTG 2026 list. SJM Managing Director Daisy Ho said the series of accolades would strengthen the company’s position on the global luxury travel map.
“An extraordinary achievement in Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star awards places SJM even more firmly on the global stage, while reflecting outstanding talent in Macau’s hospitality sector. The strict evaluation system of Forbes Travel Guide makes this recognition even more meaningful,” she said in a press release received on Wednesday (4/3).
She added that the recognition underscored SJM’s long-term commitment to service culture, operational excellence, and guest experiences at the highest standards.
“This also reinforces SJM’s role in supporting Macau’s position as the World Centre of Tourism and Leisure,” Daisy Ho noted.
With Palazzo Versace Macau joining as a Five-Star hotel in 2026, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau is now officially the world’s first and only FTG all-Five-Star destination.
The three hotels within it — Grand Lisboa Palace Macau, THE KARL LAGERFELD MACAU, and Palazzo Versace Macau — all attained the highest recognition. Meanwhile, Grand Lisboa Macau retained its Five-Star status for the seventh consecutive year.
In wellness, four signature spa hotels owned by SJM again earned FTG Five-Star recognition, making the resort the integrated resort with the world’s highest concentration of Five-Star spas globally. Through collaborations with world-class skincare brands and curated interior design, SJM offers a holistic wellness experience that blends physical and mental renewal within a premium service philosophy. SJM’s culinary excellence also continues.
Six restaurants maintained FTG Five-Star status: Robuchon au Dôme, The Eight, Palace Garden, Zuicho, Mesa by José Avillez, and Don Alfonso 1890. Four restaurants located at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau position the property as one of only three destinations worldwide with the greatest number of Five-Star restaurants within a single integrated precinct. This achievement further cements Macau’s position as a global gastronomic and luxury hospitality destination, while also underscoring SJM’s strategy to strengthen the Lisboa brand and collaborate with world-class designer labels. Club president Erick Thohir of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) deemed Indonesia U23’s 5-0 victory over Macau a positive result.
