Integrated Food Safety Oversight Ahead of Eid al-Fitr in Jakarta
The Head of the Food and Drug Authority (BPOM), Taruna Ikrar, conducted an integrated food safety inspection at Lotte Grosir Pasar Rebo in Jakarta on Monday, 9 March 2026. During the Ramadan month and the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr, BPOM has launched comprehensive food safety oversight specifically targeting processed foods, ready-to-eat items, and packaged products to protect consumers from unsafe or unregistered products and those containing harmful substances.
Officials tested the substance content of food product samples during the inspection. The integrated food safety monitoring programme is designed to ensure product safety standards and prevent the distribution of substandard or contaminated food items during the high-consumption period around the Eid festivities.
