Instead of Brawling and Illegal Street Racing, Young People Can Take Part in a Night Run in Serpong Tonight

TANGERANG SELATAN, KOMPAS.com - The Tangerang Selatan Police Resort will hold a Fun Night Run, a night-time running event over a distance of 100 metres, on Friday night (6 March 2026). The event will take place on Jalan Promoter, Lengkong Gudang Timur, Serpong, directly in front of the Tangerang Selatan Police Headquarters. The Chief of Police of Tangerang Selatan, AKBP Boy Jumalolo, said the activity is intended to channel youths’ activities into positive pursuits. The Fun Night Run is planned to start at about 21:00 WIB. “We are facilitating it first. What the concept will be, what the atmosphere will be like, we will see,” he said. In the event, the Tangsel Police also plan to invite the local Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) to assess potential athletic talents from the community. The event is held in front of the Tangsel Police Headquarters so as not to disrupt road users or community activities. “It will not disrupt public order and safety, and we will also respect the rights of other road users,” he said. Boy hopes the event can be a positive alternative for young people, especially on holiday nights, thereby minimising the potential for brawls or illegal racing.
