Instagram Introduces ‘Features’ for Horizontal Videos up to 90 Minutes Long

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Instagram has introduced a new feature called “Features”, which allows users to upload horizontal videos of up to 90 minutes long.

According to a GSM Arena report on Tuesday (27 October), the feature has been tested since the start of this week and is currently available only to selected content creators in the United States (US), following an earlier trial with creators in Brazil.

Instagram Vice-President of Product Tessa Lyons and head Adam Mosseri said the long-form video format is primarily intended for podcasters, enabling them to share full episodes as well as longer clips on the platform.

Viewers who want to watch the full programme can tap the “Watch full video” button embedded in the clip.

The “Features” format will first be available on Instagram’s mobile app, before later being introduced to the Instagram app for television devices.

The long-form video format is expected to be expanded to all users in the US by the end of this year or early next year.
