Jakarta, VIVA – Instagram influencer and owner of the Bibi Kelinci Kopitiam restaurant, Nabilah O’Brien, has taken legal action after being named a suspect in a defamation case related to CCTV footage posted from her restaurant.

Through her legal counsel, she has filed for a special case review with the Biro Pengawasan Penyidikan (Wassidik) of the Bareskrim Polri. The step is aimed at reassessing the suspect status, as she claims she is actually a victim of theft at her business.

“We have written to Wassidik for a special case review, and I hope the Wassidik Bureau can view this objectively,” said Nabilah’s lawyer, Goldie Natasya Swarovski, on Friday, 6 March 2026.

According to Goldie, her client was reported by two restaurant diners identified as ZK and E. The report followed Nabilah uploading CCTV footage showing the two allegedly causing a disturbance and taking food without paying.

In addition to applying for a special case review, Nabilah’s team has also reported the handling of the case to the Police Professional and Security Division (Propam).

“They responded quickly and actively, inviting us to stay until midnight to listen to my testimony as the lawyer regarding the examination process,” she said.

The legal team hopes this process can halt the investigation against their client.

“With all efforts to overturn our client’s suspect status, causing the investigation to stop, we will pursue,” she added.

Nabilah herself voiced her disappointment directly to the couple she reported.

“To Mr Z and Mrs E. I want to ask you directly, where is your conscience? You came to my premises, took 14 of our food and beverage products without paying a penny,” Nabilah said.

She also highlighted their actions which she described as insulting her staff.

“Not only that, you insulted my staff, entered my kitchen area, shouted at and verbally abused my staff who were working to earn their living,” she added.

Nabilah emphasised she never treated her employees like that.

“I have never done that to them. And others come in, take my stock, and insult my staff,” she concluded.
