Instagram Influencer Becomes a Suspect After Posting Alleged Theft on Social Media
Nabilah O’Brien, an Instagram influencer and proprietor of Bibi Kelinci Kopitiam in Kemang, South Jakarta, says she has been named a suspect by Bareskrim Polri after uploading a report about alleged theft at her restaurant. She posted on Instagram @nabobrien that she had remained silent for five months due to fear. ‘I am a victim of theft who has become a suspect in Bareskrim Polri. I kept quiet for five months because I was afraid to speak out,’ she wrote on Thursday, 5 March 2026. She said she has only decided to speak now to seek legal clarity over the case, and claimed that for months she was asked to admit that what she disclosed and the CCTV footage she uploaded were false allegations, including being asked for Rp1 billion. ‘For five months I was asked to admit that what I disclosed and my CCTV are defamatory, and I was asked for Rp1 billion. I have tried various means to defend myself,’ she wrote. In the same post, Nabilah also appealed to Commission III of the DPR RI and the Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to ensure a resolution of the case. ‘Sir/Madam Commission III of the DPR RI and Sir Chief of Police, please provide (the) legal certainty. I am a victim of theft, I hope to continue my life and I am confident justice can be served. This is all I can do; I don’t know where to seek protection,’ she said. Nabilah explained that the case began with an incident at her restaurant in September 2025, when a married couple was allegedly involved in a dispute with restaurant staff. The video of the incident was uploaded to Instagram @nabobrien on Saturday, 20 September 2025. CCTV footage shows a female customer entering the kitchen area, which visitors are not normally allowed to access. In her post, Nabilah described the restaurant as busy at the time, causing delays in fulfilling orders. The female customer appears to berate the kitchen staff. The man accompanying her also entered the kitchen area and appeared to vent his anger toward the staff.
