Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp Now Offer Paid Packages Starting at Rp 53,000
Meta has officially launched paid services for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp following several months of testing. Through monthly subscription packages, users can access exclusive features not available in the free versions.
According to detikInet, Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus subscriptions are priced at USD 3.99, approximately Rp 71,000 per month, while WhatsApp Plus costs USD 2.99, or around Rp 53,000 monthly.
Premium features vary across each app. Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus focus on social media experience enhancements, whereas WhatsApp Plus emphasises app personalisation and messaging features.
For instance, Instagram Plus grants exclusive access to features such as viewing how many users rewatch Stories in full, creating larger audience lists beyond ‘Close Friends’, extending Story duration beyond 24 hours, viewing Stories without appearing in the viewer list, tracking Story viewers, and uploading posts directly to profiles without appearing in followers’ feeds.
Additional features include animated Super Heart reactions for Stories, custom app icons, personalised bio fonts, and increased profile pinning options.
Facebook Plus offers similar features to Instagram Plus. WhatsApp Plus, however, includes app themes, custom ringtones, more pinned chats, customisable lists, premium stickers, and other enhancements.
In an Instagram announcement, Meta’s Head of Product Naomi Gleit stated they plan to introduce more enjoyable features in the future, as reported by TechCrunch on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
Meta is also testing additional subscription tiers, including professional packages for creators and businesses, and a dedicated AI package for all users, unified under ‘Meta One’.
While Meta AI remains free, subscribers to Meta One gain access to exclusive features such as deeper reasoning capabilities and enhanced image and video generation abilities.
The Meta One subscription will be available in two options: Plus at USD 7.99 monthly and Premium at USD 19.99, with limited testing starting next month in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia.
