Inspector General Langgeng Purnomo Appointed as DIY Regional Police Chief
The Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Suyudi Ario Seto, has rotated several high-ranking officers (pati) and middle-ranking officers (pamen) within the Polri. One of the key changes involves the Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) of DIY, where Inspector General Anggoro Sukartono has been succeeded by Inspector General Langgeng Purnomo.
According to reports, this rotation is detailed in Telegram Letter Number ST/2205/X/KEP./2026, dated 2 October 2026. The mutation covers several strategic positions ranging from the National Police Headquarters to regional levels.
Under the Telegram Letter, the position of Kapolda DIY is now held by Inspector General Langgeng Purnomo. Meanwhile, the former Kapolda DIY, Inspector General Anggoro Sukartami, has been transferred to the position of Senior Officer within Baharkam Polri, with an assignment to the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres).
The Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that these mutations are part of organisational dynamics to ensure the continuity of duties while providing space for personnel career development.
“Mutation and rotation of positions are part of the Polri organisational dynamics. This is carried out according to organisational needs as well as being part of career development and refreshment in the execution of policing duties,” Johnny said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday (3/10/2026).
In addition to the Kapolda DIY, 18 other regional police chiefs have been rotated. Among them is the Central Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo, who is replaced by Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan. Inspector General Ribut has received a new placement as the Deputy Head of the Polri Education and Training Institute (Wakalemdiklat Polri).
