Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja has officially taken up the post of Chief of NTB Regional Police (Kapolda Nusa Tenggara Barat), succeeding Inspector General Edy Murbowo. The farewell and welcoming ceremony took place at the NTB Regional Police Headquarters today.

Kalingga had previously been officially inaugurated as NTB Police Chief, replacing Edy on Sunday, 17 May 2026. The handover ceremony was held at the National Police Headquarters.

Kalingga was appointed NTB Police Chief under Telegram Letter Number ST/960/V/KEP./2026 dated 7 May 2026, signed by the Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources (As SDM Kapolri), Inspector General Anwar.

The former Head of the Community Development (Kakorbinmas) Directorate of the Polri succeeded Edy, who entered retirement.

Kalingga said he would continue the work initiated by Edy Murbowo.

“I will carry out the duties that have already been initiated by him (Irjen Edy Murbowo),” Kalingga said on Thursday (21 May 2026).

He also emphasised that he would continue to cooperate to maintain security and order in NTB.

“We will continue to work together to maintain security and order in the Province of NTB,” he said.

According to Kalingga, security is very important because NTB is an international tourist destination.

“NTB has many international destinations, so security is very important,” he noted.

In addition to maintaining NTB’s conduciveness, the two-star police officer said the police must be guardians, protectors and servants of the people.

“We are partners with the community to continually provide security for NTB to support government programmes, including the Asta Cita programmes,” he said.
