Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo assured that the peak of the homecoming traffic is proceeding safely during his inspection of the peak homecoming period at Tugu Station in the Special Region of Yogyakarta on Wednesday. Quoting an official statement, during the visit, the Police Chief received reports that today marks the peak of the homecoming influx at Tugu Station. “From the earlier report, we received information that the peak homecoming for train arrivals involves approximately 54,000 arrivals, now increased to 55,000. This means there is a percentage increase,” he said. Additionally, he received reports that the peak return flow at Tugu Station will occur on 28 and 29 March 2026. “Overall, it was reported that the situation at Yogyakarta Station remains relatively safe, with no significant complaints,” he stated. The leader of the Bhayangkara Corps further assured that the public has received prime service from the police and related stakeholders. He also reminded all homecomers to continue prioritising safety during their homecoming and return journeys. “Pay attention to personal safety. For drivers, pay attention to passenger safety, and we hope that rest areas are utilised,” he said. “If tired, please prepare a replacement driver so that the journey can truly proceed smoothly, safely, and arrive at the destination safely,” he added. During his inspection, he directly greeted homecomers at Tugu Station. He also gave packages to the public who will celebrate Eid with their respective families.
