Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Rahmawati, a member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) Commission VII, assessed that the quality of rice at the Bulog Bulungan Warehouse in North Kalimantan Province remains maintained, based on her visit to the site. “We directly observed the warehouse conditions, including the storage mechanisms and distribution patterns, so that the rice can last up to five months with its quality still maintained,” Rahmawati stated at the Bulog Bulungan Warehouse in Tanjung Selor on Tuesday. She explained that Perum Bulog implements a rapid distribution system, preventing stock accumulation over long periods. “The incoming rice is immediately distributed and then replaced with new stock. This pattern keeps the rice quality intact,” she said. “Do not easily believe hoaxes claiming that Bulog rice is infested with weevils and the like. The public can directly see the conditions in the field,” she added. According to her, the rice quality remains maintained because storage is carried out according to logistics management standards, and no long-term hoarding is done. “Everything follows the proper mechanisms, from storage to distribution, so the rice quality remains as it was when first entered until it is channelled to the public,” she said. The visit was conducted to ensure that the availability and quality of food stocks in North Kalimantan remain secure.
