The Central Jakarta District Court (PN) has executed the eviction of the former Hotel Sultan land following the conclusion of a legal dispute. Officials from the Central Jakarta District Court bailiff’s office and the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) management entered the hotel as part of the execution process.

Based on observations at Hotel Sultan, GBK, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6/2026), officials began entering at approximately 10.10 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. They were accompanied by police personnel.

A number of police officers carrying shields and other full equipment were seen entering Hotel Sultan. Police officers maintained tight security around the hotel lobby.

Meanwhile, the hotel reception desk appeared empty. GBK officials crowded around it, while several other officers were seen locking a number of the hotel’s glass doors.

As officials entered, several guests were still visible inside the hotel. A number of adults and small children had just come down from the upper floors.

Subsequently, several policewomen assisted the occupants in leaving the hotel. They exited slowly while carrying suitcases.

Central Jakarta District Court Bailiff Azhar had previously read out the decree from the Chief Judge of the Central Jakarta District Court, No. 1/PDT.EKS/2026/PN.Jkt.Pst. in conjunction with No. 208/Pdt.G/2025/PN.Jkt.Pst. In the letter, the Central Jakarta District Court opined that the execution applicants’ request for an eviction execution had fulfilled the requirements, did not contravene the law, and could be granted.

Azhar stated this with reference to the provisions of Article 195 HIR in conjunction with Article 1033 Rv, as well as other related legal provisions.

“Adjudicating: One, granting the applicants’ request above. Two, ordering the Bailiff of the Central Jakarta District Court, or if he is unable, to appoint one competent bailiff accompanied by two witnesses and, if necessary, with the assistance of the Indonesian National Police or other state instruments of power,” said Azhar.

Azhar ordered that Hotel Sultan be vacated. He demanded the land be returned to the plaintiff, namely the State Secretariat.

“To carry out the eviction execution and return to the Counterclaim Plaintiffs the land parcels of former Right to Build (HGB) 26/Gelora and former HGB 27/Gelora along with the buildings and everything attached thereto. Three, to determine the costs arising from this decree according to law,” he added.
