On Wednesday July 17, 2002 I shopped at Carrefour at Jln. MT
Haryono. After shopping, I was shocked to find that my car had
been tampered with. The window of the rear door had been broken,
the car's tape recorder and television had gone and a number of
children's toys were missing. The body of the car was also
damaged. In all, my losses stood at some Rp 25 million.

The thief was professional though because he accomplished his
task very quickly. I was inside the shop no longer than 15
minutes and the dashboard of my car, a Peugeot 206, is actually
very difficult to remove.

I reported this to the management of Carrefour but they
refused to offer any compensation. As the parking lot at this
shopping center is managed by "Secure" Parking, what happened to
me proves that it is indeed insecure to park there.
