Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Pembiayaan Digital Indonesia (AdaKami), together with Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in Surakarta, has officially announced the winners of FutureFin, a scientific writing competition for university students.

FutureFin, as part of the Tech for Indonesia initiative, provides UNS students with the opportunity to generate various innovative ideas related to online lending (pindar) or safe fintech lending, contributing to responsible and impactful fintech innovation in Indonesia for society.

Out of 61 submitted papers, which reflect the development of fintech innovation in Indonesia, 10 finalists were selected to present their ideas in the field of fintech lending, including solutions related to credit risk and financial technology, before a panel of judges comprising industry practitioners and academics.

From these 10 finalists, the three FutureFin winners are as follows:

  1. First Place: Oryza Sativa Heavenia & Piero Muharoja Anantra - Detection of First-Party Fraud in Digital Lending Using Proxy Income Estimation Approach and Multi-Source Behavioural Data

  2. Second Place: Zahra Syakira Nabilla - Development of a Hybrid Neural XGBoost-Based Credit Scoring System with Explainable AI for Predicting Default Risk on Peer-to-Peer Lending Platforms

  3. Third Place: Jonnathan Azarel Gunawan & Raihan Ade Alfattah - Optimisation of Customer Credit Limits through Integration of XGBoost and LightGBM with SHAP Module

Meanwhile, AdaKami’s Finance Director, Valentina Juveline, who also served as one of the FutureFin judges, stated that the competition is expected to open opportunities for students to contribute directly to the dynamic development of the fintech industry.

“We congratulate all the winners and extend our highest appreciation to all participating students. The enthusiasm and quality of ideas demonstrated are proof that Indonesia’s young talent has great potential to bring impactful innovations to the future of this industry,” she said in an official statement on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Sebelas Maret (FEB UNS), Prof. Bhimo Rizky Samudro, also appreciated the participation of UNS students in the competition. According to him, the event marks the culmination of a series of collaborative programmes between AdaKami and UNS aimed at fostering young talent in fintech through selection, mentoring, and idea development over the past few months. He praised the students for their dedication, creativity, and critical thinking skills in the competition.

“FutureFin serves as an excellent platform to hone skills while bridging the academic world with industry needs. We also express our thanks to AdaKami for the collaboration with FEB UNS, particularly the S1 Digital Business programme, which has provided students with opportunities to learn directly from practitioners and introduce applicable and relevant financial service innovations, especially in the fintech lending sector, to address current inclusion challenges. This aligns with the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17,” he explained.

The second-place winner of the FutureFin competition, Zahra Syakira Nabilla, also expressed her appreciation. She views the event as extraordinary because it allows students to explore and seek solutions for ideas in the fintech world.

“I hope AdaKami can organise more similar events to serve as a platform for students to further explore finance,” said Zahra.

The third-place winner of the FutureFin competition, Raihan Ade Alfattah, also shared their impressions during the selection process. The competition has provided them with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the fintech lending industry.

“We learned many things that we did not get in the classroom,” added Raihan.

The FutureFin winners will receive various awards, including cash prizes and apprenticeship opportunities with AdaKami. Additionally, the main winners will gain broader industry exposure, including visits to one of AdaKami’s technology partners.
