Innalillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun, Sixth Vice President of Indonesia Try Sutrisno Passes Away

Sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Try Sutrisno has passed away at the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto in Jakarta on Monday morning, 2 March 2026. The death of Try Sutrisno was confirmed by the head of RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, Major General Ichsan Firdaus.

“(He passed away at) 6:58 Western Indonesia Time,” he stated on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Information regarding the death of Jenderal TNI (Ret.) Try Sutrisno had previously circulated through chain messages. The message was sent on behalf of the family and the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), and was confirmed by several officials within the Presidential Secretariat Ministry and the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres).

According to the information, the body of the sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno will be washed at RSPAD, then transported to his residence at Jalan Purwakarta Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

“We kindly ask for forgiveness for all the mistakes and shortcomings of the deceased during his lifetime. May the good deeds of the departed be accepted in the sight of Allah SWT. We humbly request prayers from all of you so that the deceased receives the best place beside Him. Amen, Amen, Amen,” read an excerpt from the chain message announcing the death of the sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno from the family.
