Innalillahi: Eldest Daughter of General Hoegeng Passes Away

Bandung, VIVA – Reni Soerjanti (Reniyanti) Hoegeng, the eldest daughter of former National Police Chief General Hoegeng Iman Santoso, was reported to have passed away on Tuesday.

According to a statement from the extended family, Reniyanti died at 00.44 Western Indonesia Time at the age of 78.

Reniyanti passed away at Eka Hospital in Depok.

The family did not disclose the cause of death, but it was reported that her health had declined in recent times, and two weeks ago she underwent heart treatment and had briefly been allowed to return home.

Reniyanti’s body will lie in state at the family home in Pesona Khayangan, Depok.

The late Reniyanti is planned to be buried at the Giri Tama Tonjong Cemetery.

Her body was to be taken to the lying-in venue after midday prayers.

Reniyanti was known to be the first of three children of General Hoegeng. The other two are Aditya Soetanto Hoegeng and Sri Pamujining Rahayu.

Reniyanti was also the partner of the senior actor of Manado-Dutch descent, Rudy Wowor, from 1975 to 2003. The couple was blessed with two children, Siti Madinah and Michael Ben Syura Sondia Wowor.

Reniyanti, Hoegeng’s first child, was also reported to be a close friend of Megawati Soekarnoputri, the former president and daughter of former President Soekarno, as both attended the Cikini school. (Ant)
