INMF: Circulating Media List is an Ecosystem Mapping
The Indonesia New Media Forum Committee, or INMF, regrets the naming of media outlets in a press conference held by the Indonesian Government’s Public Communication Agency on Wednesday, 6 May 2026. In a written statement dated 7 May 2026, the INMF Committee stated that the mention of new media names as government partners by the Head of the Agency, Muhammad Qodari, has caused misunderstandings.
“The circulating list of media is not a list of INMF members, but rather a mapping of the industry and social media ecosystem that was once used in internal discussion processes,” wrote the INMF Committee.
This new media community states that it is strengthening internal governance as part of its commitment to being an accountable and transparent forum. INMF has not yet opened formal memberships or established official partnerships with any parties.
Muhammad Qodari, in the press conference on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, stated that he had met with representatives of homeless media. Qodari claimed to have invited them to help expand the reach of government public communication.
It is known that homeless media are entities based on social media without a home in the form of their own website or application. This media content is usually managed independently and uploaded to social media such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
In that press conference, Qodari mentioned several digital media outlets claimed to be part of the New Media Forum. These media include Folkative, Indozone, Dagelan, Indomusikgram, Infipop, Narasi, Muslimvlog, USS Feed, menjadimanusia, GNFI, Creativox, Kok Bisa, Taubatters, Bapak2ID, and Pandemic Talks.
Furthermore, there are Kawan Hawa, Folix, Ngomongin Uang, Big Alpha, Goodstats, Hai Dulu, Proud Project, Vibes, UNFRMD, Kumpul Leaders, CXO Media, Volix Media, How To Do Nothing, Everless Media, Geometry Media, Folks Diary, Dream, Melodi Alam, NKTSHI, Modestalk, Lead Media, Nalar TV, Mahasiswa dan Jakarta, and Mature Indonesia.
“We warmly welcome the presence of friends from the New Media Forum, new partners of the Public Communication Agency in Indonesia’s digital media ecosystem,” said Qodari on Wednesday.
INMF representative, Timothy Marbun, said that there was indeed a meeting between several INMF members and Qodari for an introduction on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. “There was no commitment whatsoever,” said Timothy.
According to Timothy, the partnership context was limited to opening communication for homeless media to conduct cover both sides in reporting. The Public Communication Agency, he said, is open to answering confirmations regarding government performance. “The spirit is precisely to ensure that the information disseminated is complete from all sides,” said Timothy.
Timothy explained that INMF was formed collectively and independently in mid-2025. This forum was created as a space to gather, grow, and learn for new media. Therefore, he said, INMF is managed without hierarchy. He noted that the media joined in INMF have their own focus and editorial independence.
