The Provincial Board (DPP) of Inkindo in DKI Jakarta is promoting the strengthening of Jakarta’s economic competitiveness through improvements in the infrastructure sector, building governance, and transportation. This was conveyed during an audience with the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, on Tuesday (17/3/2026). Acting Chairman of the DPP Inkindo DKI Jakarta, Anton Gerbono, stated that several strategic issues such as the Building Functionality Certificate (SLF), flood management, and traffic congestion are important factors affecting the investment climate and economic growth in Jakarta. “The consistent application of SLF not only concerns safety aspects but also increases investor confidence in the quality of building governance in Jakarta,” said Anton in a statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026). He explained that the current implementation of SLF still faces obstacles, particularly the limited number of technical assessors and the suboptimal involvement of consulting business entities for complex buildings. However, the certainty of building standards is considered important for creating a healthy business climate. Inkindo assesses that the flood problem, which has not yet been fully addressed, poses a serious obstacle to economic activities. Floods not only cause physical losses but also reduce productivity and increase logistics costs. For this reason, Inkindo proposes an integrated approach, including the utilisation of technology such as underground reservoirs and underground channels, as well as the arrangement of riverbank areas through the development of vertical housing. In addition, spatial planning regulations are also deemed crucial, including the application of economic incentives and disincentives to prevent land use that does not conform to its designation. In the transportation sector, persistent high congestion is seen as adding to the city’s economic burden. Inkindo encourages the enhancement of public transport integration, the provision of pedestrian infrastructure, and the synchronisation of inter-modal services to improve mobility efficiency.
