INKA sends additional 120 wagons to New Zealand for UGL order
PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), or INKA, has again dispatched 120 units of 40-foot Container Flat Top Wagons to New Zealand, fulfilling an order from UGL, an Australian company.
Senior Manager Corporate Communications and Representative Office of PT INKA (Persero) Nanang Agung Rohmandiyas said in a statement in Madiun, East Java, on Friday that the shipment represents the realisation of a 340-unit order from UGL.
“For us, every shipment always adheres to the same principle, namely meeting the quality and specifications that have been agreed with the customer,” said Nanang Agung Rohmandiyas.
The shipment was carried out from the Jamrud Nilam Mirah Terminal and Teluk Lamong, Surabaya, which are managed by PT Pelindo Multi Terminal.
He explained that with this shipment of 120 units, the realisation of deliveries under the current UGL project order has reached 250 units, or around 73.5 percent of the total.
The total order for this project amounts to 340 units, consisting of 290 units of 40-foot Container Flat Top Wagons and 50 units of 50-foot Container Flat Top Wagons.
INKA previously shipped 130 units in March 2026, and the remaining 90 units, comprising 40 40-foot Container Flat Top Wagons and 50 50-foot Container Flat Top Wagons, are scheduled for delivery in November 2026.
This order is the fourth Container Flat Top Wagons contract between INKA and UGL since it began in 2021. Overall, INKA has delivered 1,294 of the total 1,504 wagon units ordered by UGL.
“We appreciate UGL’s trust in our team, and we are committed to maintaining that trust in every delivery,” he said.
The collaboration also includes a separate order for 50 locomotive platforms for the Australian market, with deliveries scheduled to continue until 2027.
“Four orders since 2021 serve as a clear benchmark for this relationship. UGL has again placed its trust in us through new work,” added Nanang.
He stressed that INKA’s main focus at present is to complete the ongoing order by November 2026 and to continue maintaining the partnership going forward to meet the commitments of global customers in international markets.
