INKA sends 60 flat wagons ordered by PT KAI to Palembang
Madiun - PT Industri Kereta Api or PT INKA (Persero) has sent 60 flat wagons, which are part of an order from PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI, destined for Palembang.
Senior Manager of Public Relations and Representative Office of PT INKA (Persero) Hartono in Madiun on Friday stated that this shipment is the 14th trainset (TS-14) in the contract for the procurement of 1,125 flat wagons between PT INKA and PT KAI, all of which are produced at the PT INKA Banyuwangi factory.
“The shipment is carried out by road using 30 trailers, with an estimated travel time of about four days to reach Palembang,” Hartono said.
According to him, the delivery of the order is done in stages of 60 wagons per trainset in accordance with the agreed contract scheme.
“The shipment is done in batches of 60 wagons, and this is the 14th trainset or TS-14,” Hartono said.
He stated that the entire production of the flat wagons is carried out 100 percent at the INKA Banyuwangi Factory. This forms part of the company’s commitment to developing the production capacity of the national railway industry outside the main Madiun facility.
“This is 100 percent Made in Banyuwangi. Alhamdulillah, thanks to the prayers and support of the Banyuwangi community, 14 TS have successfully been sent to Palembang,” he said.
INKA targets shipments to reach 19 trainsets (TS) by mid-2026, equivalent to 1,125 wagons sent from the Banyuwangi Factory to Palembang.
So far, 295 flat wagons remain to be worked on, with deliveries divided into five stages. Hartono expressed optimism that the mid-year completion target can be achieved.
“The estimated shipment for this time is a four-day journey with 30 trailers. Please pray that everything goes smoothly and PT INKA in Banyuwangi grows even larger,” he said.
