Injured Afrina out of SEA Games

JAKARTA: A leg injury suffered at a recent event in Turkey has
put leading artistic gymnast Afrina Siahaan out of contention for
next month's 23rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

"Afrina has undergone surgery and will be absent from the SEA
Games next month," Asep Sulaeman was quoted by Antara as saying
on Thursday.

Afrina, 23, won three golds at the 2004 National Games for
North Sumatra and was a silver medalist on the uneven bars in the
2003 SEA Games.

Asep said the SEA Games team would consist of 13 artistic
gymnasts (seven men and six women), four women's rhythmic
gymnasts and eight aerobic gymnasts (five men and three women).

Some of the SEA Games artistic gymnasts are undergoing
training in Rumania.

In the 2003 SEA Games, national gymnasts brought home two
