InJourney Strengthens Mangrove Rehabilitation in Mandalika SEZ

Central Lombok (ANTARA) - InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has planted 15,000 mangrove seedlings in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), to support sustainable development and preserve the area’s ecosystem. “This activity is a continuation of the previous year’s InJourney Green mangrove planting efforts, serving as a tangible action to protect the coastal ecosystem while promoting sustainable tourism,” said InJourney’s Director of Human Resources and Digital, Herdy Harman, in Central Lombok on Thursday. He stated that InJourney Green is part of the InJourney Group’s sustainable commitment to encouraging responsible tourism practices among all members, particularly on the environmental pillar. “We are promoting InJourney Green as a collaborative platform that not only focuses on environmental aspects but also strengthens sustainable social and economic impacts,” he added. ITDC’s Commercial and Marketing Director, Febrina Mediana, conveyed that this mangrove planting is part of the company’s strategic efforts to ensure that the development of the Mandalika SEZ aligns with sustainability principles. “InJourney Green 2026 is not merely part of the InJourney Group’s flagship Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme, but also a concrete step to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC),” she said. She added that through this initiative, they aim to ensure that area development not only focuses on economic growth but also provides added value for the environment and the sustainability of the coastal ecosystem.
