InJourney Strengthens Indonesia's Tourism Ecosystem Through State-Owned Hotel Consolidation
PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), known as InJourney, is accelerating the transformation of the national tourism sector through the consolidation of State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) hotel portfolios under its subsidiary, PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (InJourney Hospitality). This strategic step is part of a shareholder mandate to build a more integrated, efficient, and globally competitive national hospitality industry. Through this consolidation, InJourney also targets an increase in state asset value while strengthening Indonesia’s tourism ecosystem sustainably.
The transformation reached an important milestone through a series of Conditional Sale and Purchase Agreement (CSPA) signings held on 11 June 2026 and continued on 26 June 2026. These two stages form the initial foundation for building a hospitality sector that is more efficient, integrated, and oriented towards long-term value creation.
As the SOE Holding for the aviation and tourism sector, InJourney orchestrates and accelerates the transformation of the national tourism ecosystem. In this effort, InJourney Hospitality becomes the entity leading the management of the SOE hotel portfolio to deliver a world-class hospitality experience that emphasises Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage and distinctive character.
‘This consolidation is not merely a unification of hotel assets, but a transformation step to build a more competitive foundation for Indonesia’s hospitality industry on a global level. Through InJourney Hospitality, we aim to build a more structured hotel portfolio, elevate the advantages of Indonesian heritage as a differentiation offered to customers, and create sustainable value creation,’ said InJourney President Director Maya Watono in a statement on Saturday (27/6/2026).
This consolidation also addresses various fundamental challenges that SOE hotels have faced, ranging from brand fragmentation and service standard differentiation to operational performance optimisation. Through more integrated management, each asset is expected to achieve its best potential while creating synergies that provide added value for the entire ecosystem.
The initial stage of consolidation began with the CSPA signing on 11 June 2026, which included the transfer of hotel business units owned by the InJourney Group to InJourney Hospitality, namely The Manohara Hotel, Pullman Mandalika, and five airport hotels managed by the IAS Group. On the same occasion, a Conditional Share Sale and Purchase Agreement for PT Hotel Indonesia Properti (HIPRO) was also signed as part of the ownership structure arrangement for the hotel portfolio within the InJourney Group.
This momentum was then continued on 26 June 2026 through the signing of CSPAs with nine SOEs: PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk Group, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Group, PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Group, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Group, PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk Group, PT Nindya Karya, PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk Group, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk Group, and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk Group. This stage includes the process of asset acquisition, business separation, and share acquisition of hotel business units as part of the SOE Hotel consolidation.
Furthermore, InJourney believes that the ongoing process forms a strong foundation towards more professional, optimal, and globally competitive hotel management, while strengthening the hospitality sector’s contribution to tourism growth and the national economy.
The success of this transformation is inseparable from the support of all stakeholders, including the SOE Regulatory Body, Danantara Asset Management, all SOEs and/or SOE subsidiaries owning hotel assets, as well as various parties involved in the consolidation process.
