PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero), operating as InJourney Airports and serving as the main operator of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, has arranged free bus transport for passengers affected by flight cancellations resulting from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau on Sunday.

Corporate Secretary Group Head of InJourney Airports Arie Ahsanurrohim said in a written statement that the buses prepared include those to carry passengers bound for Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang and Surabaya.

“Airport staff will convey this information directly to affected passengers in the terminals, including the registration procedures,” he said.

He added that affected passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport can register for bus departures at posts to be set up in each terminal, namely Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

“The provision of these buses is part of the procedures for handling affected passengers, or Service Recovery Activation (SRA), following the suspension of flight activities at Soekarno-Hatta Airport for safety reasons due to indications of volcanic ash dispersion,” he said.

In the first phase, he said, eight buses have been prepared, with two buses for each destination, and the first departure scheduled for Sunday, 6 September 2026, at 9.00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. If needed, the number of buses and departure times will be increased according to demand.

In addition to the provision of free buses to Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang and Surabaya, the SRA measures include the provision of food and light refreshments as well as the preparation of special areas in the terminals for affected passengers.

“These passenger handling procedures will continue until the airport is declared reopened. The SRA is not only implemented at the four airports affected by volcanic ash dispersion, but also at other airports with flights destined for the four affected airports. The form of SRA is adjusted to the needs of each airport,” he explained.
